THE PALLADIUM CLUB

The name “Palladium Club” was selected for the parallel this precious metal has to the Gleaners Dispatch, Inc. organization.“Palladium” is a rare and lustrous silvery-white metal which is a part of the platinum group metals (PGM’s), having the lowest melting point and being the least dense of the group. One in four goods manufactured today contain palladium (although many have never heard of it) and plays a key role during the manufacturing process. Traces of palladium are found in platinum, gold and silver, making each precious metal stronger and more valuable.

Gleaners Dispatch, Inc. – also a relatively “unknown” nonprofit in West Jacksonville - is a 10-year-old 501(c)(3) public charity that is also “rare and lustrous” as it has become a safety net to over 350,000 people (in 2008) as a source of free fresh bread, sweets, fruits and vegetables. Gleaners volunteers gather (“glean”) the excess (leftover) FRESH food left on the docks of area wholesalers and retailers, and re-distribute it free of charge to families going through tight times.

Gleaners is a group of caring volunteers (called the JOY Club) that rescues excess fresh food that would otherwise be thrown away, and dispatches it through our distribution guest lines. “People Helping People” is our motto – Gleaners gives away food which has high economic value because it is fresh, but is given by our organization free of charge to families going over financial bumps in the road.

The precious metals and the precious gemstones are products of our earth, not unlike the fresh food products of bread (from nutritious grains), fresh fruits and fresh vegetables, gleaned and re-distributed by Gleaners Dispatch, Inc.

Gleaners Dispatch, Inc. is NOT a food pantry or food bank. Gleaners specializes in re-distributing only excess FRESH food so it is on someone’s table within 24-48 hours of our volunteers gleaning (rescuing) it.

Gleaners Dispatch, Inc. does not receive any government funding. Therefore, we are always on the lookout for those rare and precious “partners” who will help to underwrite our grassroots organization.

Will you help underwrite our monthly budget as a Palladium Club partner? We are attempting to help our donors (and our monthly budget!) by enabling them to donate financial support on a monthly basis, as opposed to an annual basis, if at all possible. Please contact Dave Fountain (Founder & CEO) at (904) 777-6344 or (904) 591-4259 for additional information.
