We welcome TREVOR WILLIAMSON as our new Executive Director here at Gleaners. He and his wife, Bethany, both graduated in the spring of 2008 from Trinity College here in Jacksonville, and are celebrating their first wedding anniversary this month.
Trevor’s degree in pastoral ministry, his volunteer work at the Trinity Rescue Mission, his mercy and compassionate heart for hurting people, and his basic common sense, make him a wonderful “find” to replace Dave Fountain (present Founder & CEO) in the hands-on, day-to-day operation of our unique “People Helping People” business called Gleaners Dispatch, Inc.
Dave Fountain (age 72) founded Gleaners 12 years ago. Since incorporating and receiving a 501(c)(3) IRC tax deductible designation in 1999, “Pastor Dave” has solidified over 25 vendor donor relationships for the Gleaners organization; established distribution sites staffed entirely by volunteers (each year in excess of 250 volunteer members of The JOY Club help sort and distribute food), and has become a unique “go-to” friend to NE Florida residents in need of fresh food and encouragement (over 300,000 people fed last year).
Pastor Fountain will continue to be “the face of Gleaners”, but his health dictates that he will be withdrawing from the day-to-day responsibilities. As President of Gleaners, he will continue as an active Board of Directors member, focusing primarily on PR and funding development.
