If your company participates in an annual United Way of NE Florida campaign, participate in a WIN-WIN-WIN scenario by making a pledge/donation through your company, benefit United Way, AND designate Gleaners Dispatch, Inc. as the nonprofit agency you would like to support with your United Way donation. If designated, Gleaners will receive about 80% of your donation. We are a 501c3 nonprofit public charity and will provide you with a year-end tax-deductible contribution summary following our receipt of your donated funds from United Way.

We are hoping to have our 2007 audit completed in the next couple of weeks, thanks to the diligent work of our auditor, Lisa Campbell (CPA) with the Fitzpatrick & Robinson CPA firm.

The shifting of the day-to-day hands-on management of Gleaners Dispatch, Inc. from founder, Dave Fountain, to Eric Lampe & Eugene Albright has been a very successful transition. This summer Gleaners has seen steady growth in the number of people being fed, as well as growth in the volunteer corps (The JOY CLUB). On July 31st, the Gleaners distribution Guest sign-in book had over 500 families sign in representing an average of 4 other people in the household (over 2,000 people fed in one day) - this was our largest single distribution day so far this year.

Dave Fountain had successful heart surgery on July 31st at the University of Florida Shands Hospital in Gainesville. His six-day CICU stay followed by a couple of days in a step-down unit, has gotten him back home and started on a good time of recovery. He expects to return to full time PR & ministry work with Gleaners Dispatch, Inc. in November. Sincere thanks to all who sent cards, flowers, and prayed for him.

Jim Kelly (PR & In-House Grant Writer) successfully completed a week of specialized training by the Grantsmanship Center August 11-15th downstate. We are very excited about the special talents & abilities each staff person brings to our great team at Gleaners.
